Through a collaborative research initiative between Pizza Pizza Limited, Thermal Electronics Corporation, and McMaster University, the development of the POWER system provided a technological solution that improves cooking efficiency and integrates the restaurant support infrastructure to improve overall restaurant energy utilisation; ultimately reducing operating costs, minimising greenhouse gas production, and providing electrical resiliency during power outages. Based in Hamilton, Ontario, and incorporated in January 2018, HARvEST Systems, is a spin-off company tasked to commercialise the POWER system within the food service industry.
